Artemis II Launch Countdown Officially Underway, T-2 Days to Historic Moon Mission

摘要: NASA Artemis II 发射倒计时已在肯尼迪航天中心正式启动,倒计时时钟于美东时间 16:44 开始计时,目标发射时间为 4 月 1 日 18:24。

Countdown Commenced

The countdown for NASA's Artemis II test flight is officially underway at the agency's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Members of the launch team arrived at their consoles inside the Rocco Petrone Launch Control Center, and the onsite countdown clock started ticking down at 4:44 p.m. EDT, targeting a launch time of 6:24 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

Artemis II is the first crewed launch of NASA's SLS (Space Launch System) rocket and Orion spacecraft.

Technical Preparations

With the countdown underway, engineers are:

  • Powering up flight hardware and checking communication links
  • Preparing the rocket's cryogenic systems for fueling with hundreds of thousands of gallons of super-cooled liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen
  • Filling the sound suppression system's massive water tank at Launch Pad 39B, which will unleash a protective deluge at liftoff

Crew Status

The Artemis II crew — Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, Mission Specialist Christina Koch (all NASA), and Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen (CSA) — remain in Astronaut Crew Quarters inside Kennedy's Neil A. Armstrong Operations and Checkout Building.

The crew is:

  • Maintaining quarantine under strict health monitoring with regular medical checks
  • Following a controlled sleep schedule and nutrition plan
  • Receiving regular updates on the rocket's configuration and weather conditions

Weather and Viewing

NASA and the U.S. Space Force's Space Launch Delta 45 continue monitoring conditions. The forecast shows an 80% chance of favorable weather.
