Artemis II SLS rocket rolls out to launch pad

Summary: According to Spaceflight Now, on March 19, 2026, NASA rolled the SLS (Space Launch System) rocket from the Vehicle Assembly Building to Launch Pad 39B at Kennedy Space Center, a journey of approximately 12 hours. Artemis II is NASA's first crewed lunar orbit test mission, planned for launch no earlier than April 1, with crew members NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman (commander), Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen.

The rocket was returned to VAB on February 21 due to hydrogen leak and upper stage propulsion helium issues. The Flight Readiness Review was completed on March 12.
